World Hepatitis Alliance asks “Am I number 12?”
Did you know that one in twelve people are infected with Hepatitis? This is the main focus of this year’s World Hepatitis Day. Run by over 200 patient groups and the World Hepatitis Alliance, this campaign is running to promote the awareness of the disease that kills 1.5 million people per year.
Hepatitis is a disease that affects your liver and can lead to cirrhosis of the liver if left untreated. The awareness of this disease that is actually more infectious then HIV is low and needs to change. The World Hepatitis Alliance is trying it’s best to achieve a high level of awareness for this disease in order to try to stop the disease from spreading as rapidly as it does at the moment. The disease is 100 times more infectious than HIV and also infects 10 times the amount of people than HIV infects.
