Personal Branding: Use Every Opportunity To Grow Your Character

Posted under Marketing

Almost everything you do is linked directly to your Personal Brand. If you are a small business owner, then you have an advantage over larger companies because when it comes to your brand, you likely have the ability to get very personal.

If you have a small business then there is no need for any expensive measures since you have with you the ideal spokesperson to represent your brand – YOU!

Here are a few keys that you need to keep in mind about your brand in order to establish that personal touch apart from bringing in some loyal following within your target audience.

Everything begins and ends with you and there is at the heart of your brand, your character. As you don’t want your character to show up in ways less favorable, you’ll try to make use of every opportunity in growing your character. There seems to be no sense for other success principles if there is a lack of strong character.

People will join in and help you achieve your goals only if they feel that you are a committed individual. Almost all are attracted to such people who follow-through on their word and have a “no matter what” attitude. Great brands need to be built on this, since, being committed, you can deliver on your promise and show the value of your Personal Brand.

Your confidence can make you unstoppable and can drive you to the lead. It even acts as the backbone of self-esteem. Though true confidence will not have any limitations and can help strive for apt solutions, you should take care in distinguishing confidence from arrogance, which seems an indication of poor social skills or insecurity.

Being competent is another facet that’s of prime importance. This thing that you attain from having failed, dusted yourself off and tried again is what separates the amateurs from the professionals. Being more competent will not only help you project through your Personal Brand but even get your brand higher loyalty.

How To Know If Your House Has Termites

Posted under Business And Finance

No one wants termite attacks, but unfortunately everybody is at risk for them. Termites do not discriminate; they infest any house. Some may believe a termite infestation is just irritating, but they can do more damage than you may know. Termites are important in the circle of life, but they shouldn’t be attacking our homes. If you do not detect them before they begin doing big harm, they can ruin your entire house.

Unfortunately, homeowners normally don’t even know they have termites until after a lot of harm has already occurred. Having some knowledge about the early signs of termites will help protect your house before the problem starts or intensifies. Termites can do a lot of harm to an area in a small time period. Thus, knowing what to look for would most likely help you stop termites before they can cause insurmountable damage.

You should know that not all termite infestations are visible to the naked eye. A little more time and a more conditioned eye is needed in order to discover these wood eating creatures. You can see them living & feeding off your floors, walls, furniture and other areas of the house that is made of wood. Another tip to help determine termite infestation is inspecting in mud holes and feces piles.

Determining the early signs of termite attacks require inspecting areas where termites normally would go. Check outside, in the garden & lawn area; tree stumps, dead leaves and mud holes in the soil. Also look for entryways into your walls. See if your walls have cracks or spaces where they could go. You should also check moldings, window sills, basement walls and doorframes.

If any show signs of feeding activity, you should reach a professional pest control company or exterminator. If you have the proper equipment, you can even do it yourself. The main thing here is to detect the problem before serious troubles arise.

Find out the most effective methods of eradicating ants and other pests from your homes or offices.

Religiously Significant Aspects Of Buddhist Funerals

Posted under Business And Finance

Buddhist funeral rites and rituals are replete with religious importance for Buddhists. The rituals performed during the Buddhist funeral are believed to set the person’s soul free from the chains of life and enable it to find a transformed and elevated life thereafter where it gets closer to Moksha.

Monks are invited to perform the ceremonies and rituals during a Buddhist funeral, that usually ends with cremation. The underlying positive energies are freed from the soul by the chanting of the correct sutras by monks who read from the holy scriptures. While the chanting continues, the deceased is made ready for the funeral service and for visitors to pay last respects, so that there is no decomposition even if the final rites are delayed. The body is bathed and put to rest in a casket along with incense sticks, candles, flowers and a photo of the departed person.

When the last rites are delayed to allow far away relatives to come for paying their last respects to the deceased, invited monks visit the house everyday to read and recite from the Buddhist religious scripture Abhidharma.

The monks complete the final rites on the funeral day and the head priest delivers a speech mentioning the noble deeds and actions done by the deceased and consoling the grieving family members and friends. Other rites like wrapping a white cloth around the coffin during the religious incantation and Pansakula, a ritual of passing on virtues and blessings to the departed soul are also carried out.

Prior to cremation, a family member or a near and dear one is asked to make a brief speech about the deceased. A light meal for all the visitors is organized after the Buddhist funeral ceremony and the cremation is carried out.

A great number of people in Thailand, Tibet, China and a few other Asian nations with a large Buddhist population follow the Buddhist funeral system with some variations according to the local customs.

Discover more about the best company that provides high quality caskets. Leave the delicate matter of your funerals arrangement in the hands of considerate funeral directors.

Project Management: The Gap Between Want & Get

Posted under Uncategorized

A dodgy specification combined with a fixed price is every project managers worst nightmare, yet despite us all being in agreement on this there is still often a huge gapm between a projects needs and the assigned budget/resource.

The main issue here is the question of risk and who is willing to take it. In cases of fixed price projects the risk is with the supplier, whereas with T&M it is the customer who bears the risk. Overrunning is the most common risk, and the cost of any extra time, work or resource has to be absorbed by wither the customer or the supplier.

Theoretically the supplier should shoulder the risk in a fixed price project, as it is they who have set the price and timescales, and they who get the profit if the project comes in under budget. If it comes under they make more profit, if it goes over they are covered by the contingency that they probably added, so unless the project comes in really late everyone’s happy , and even if it does come in really late then surely it’s the suppliers fault so they should take the hit. Or is it their fault?

When practically applied this thinking falls down, as it is rare that the estimate that the supplier gives is the quote that gets approved. Usually there is some negotiation, and suppliers nearly always have to reduce their price as if they don’t there is always a competitor who will. This leads to them taking on fixed price projects and having to under scope them to fit within the budget.

Even in cases where the over run is entirely down to the supplier, they obviously still need to turn a profit in order to stay in business. So to overcome this problem need to stay in business and running unprofitable projects is not the way to do it! So to overcome this suppliers may decide to scale back the project and change the requirements, often leading to the much feared “change request” conversation- an area no one wants to get in to.

This gap can be reduced or at least handled early on in a project if a Project Manager makes sure the customer can see what they will actually get as soon as possible. By showing a customer small sections of work as they are completed, the deficit between what they want and what they will get is addresses more quickly and therefore overcome in a more timely fashion.

This is referred to as “Minding the Gap” and knowledge of this has grown from the realisation that on large and ongoing projects it is rare there is only one gap, and so the need to manage the gap is heightened, and can be helped by employing project management software.

Why It’s Crucial To Develop A New Website With Great SEO Web Design

Posted under Uncategorized

When you wish to get your site on the map these days, it takes more than simply building a great site. Your website doesn’t have to be incredibly beautiful to be efficacious in earning – in fact, the simpler the better. One thing that you’ll need to look out for is that your website follows strict SEO ideas so the search sites will be ready to quickly read and appraise the theme of your website. Using professional search engine optimization methods you can turn your site into a high ranking powerhouse of traffic. However, there’s more to it than just the on-page S.E.O ideas.

there are several off page factors that have to be optimized too such as backlinks (link popularity), getting your page indexed thru RSS feeds, and various other SEO technologies that help your site rankings improve.

The off-page SEO systems are not as effective if your on-page SEO web design is not set up correctly . This could make your activities in the off page arena less effective. When the web crawlers, for instance, go out and find your back links from authority sites, they really do follow the link back to your page and check out what you have there. If your on-page S.E.O isn’t set up properly, then it may reduce the value of those links, even if it’s’s coming from an authority site or high ranking site.

If you’re new to the internet promoting game, it’d be in your best interest to hire a corporation that does SEO website design for a couple of reasons. They can get your website set up quickly and with perfect S.E.O, which should give your site a better chance to get indexed quickly and also helps your off-page S.E.O efforts as well .

More folks will be prepared to link to your site naturally if the quality of your website is higher. No one wants to link to a site that isn’t working, is poorly designed, or is just plain unattractive. But, one thing you will soon learn is that its better to have good bug-free code than it is to have a gorgeous site.

They are saying a beautiful site wins awards but an effectual site wins traffic and profits. If your company could use social media for businesses, another money stream or simply another promoting tool, contact a professional web development company for help today.

How To Engage The Right Contractor For Refurbishing Your Home

Posted under Uncategorized

It is not a simple thing to trust an outsider for the renovation of your house. That is the reason why being careful about the contractor you select for this purpose is extremely vital.

Hiring a contractor must not be done in urgency or in hurry, but with care after taking into consideration your personal choices, else it may result in unpleasant experiences in the future. Prior to the appointment of a contractor, consider the suggestions given below to make sure that you do not eventually take any incorrect decision.

You should start the search by discussing about it with your family and friends. Ask for referrals and figure out if the projects undertaken by those contractors are of the same nature as the project you have in consideration. You can look for a contractor by referring to the Yellow Pages or use a good search engine on the internet and look for ‘Renovations Singapore’. However, these sources must not be believed without cross checking their credibility.

As a next step, inform the contractor about your plans for your residence. You should discuss all your needs at this stage to ensure streamlined work without any hitches. You must choose a contractor having a high level of commitment in his work and who is comfortable enough to interact with. If you are not quite satisfied with the amount of interest he shows in the job or in your creative inputs, it would be advisable to look for another contractor.

You should assess the contractor’s previous work by looking at the houses he has renovated and talking to their owners. The renovation projects he has handled should reflect his expertise and professionalism and should match up to your expectations, so that you can rely on him and believe in him to take proper care of your house.

After you have found someone who perfectly fits your needs, it is time to negotiate a good pricing, for which you must have some idea of the existing market rates. Once this factor is successfully dealt with, you can look forward to an excellent house renovation project.

The Whole Story Behind The Wedding Cake Topper

Posted under Uncategorized

So you are in the process of getting a wedding cake topper to sit on top of your wedding cake. Wedding cake toppers are certainly a trendy accessory these days. For example, consider the following search topics that people are typing directly into into the most popular search engines:

funny wedding cake toppers vintage wedding cake toppers western wedding cake toppers novelty wedding cake toppers ethnic wedding cake toppers personalized wedding cake topper silver wedding cake toppers cheap monogram wedding cake toppers

Do you know what wedding cake toppers are? What a great question. Not many people know what they are, but they are those tiny “figures” or “statues” that sit on top of a wedding cake. They seem to scream out “Notice Me…I’m Something Really Fantastic…I Matter!”. From their very humble beginnings there is a huge assortment of cake toppers available today. Let’s spend a few moments learning their history…

Now that we are done with our description, let us turn our focus to the history. Although no accurate records exist of the very first time that someone put the first figure on the very top of a wedding cake, a number of traditions do exist. One very popular tradition states that a woman was getting married, and she was trying to figure out some way in which she could show the love that she and her husband to be shared for each other. Her dad happened to be the village baker, and she gave him a task. Being a baker he obviously baked a wedding cake, but he added a little statue to the top of the cake. He positioned a model of his daughter and future son-in-law on on the top of the wedding cake. This was to exemplify the love that these two young individuals shared for each other as they started their new life together.

Is this an actual story? Perhaps it is. Is it fictional? It could be. Does it foreshadow the prominence that the cake topper would have on not only the wedding cake but the big day? Undoubtably. This humble baker probably had no idea what a revolution he had started. What we now call the wedding day would never be the same again…

What comes to mind when you think of the 50’s? The King (i.e.: Elvis) and Rock & Roll right? Well toppers were destined to become more popular than ever during this decade as soldiers returning from the war started to settle down and develop a family.

Today we see that wedding cake toppers are extremely popular. Models have changed somewhat to reflect the times, but they are popular none-the-less. In this world in which we live you can get cake toppers that depict mixed race marriages, and same-sex marriages as well. Many personalized toppers are being purchased these days. One model in particular depicts the new bride grabbing her new groom by the back of the shirt…preventing him from escaping. Another depicts her dragging him back to the altar after he has escaped. Some cake toppers even show the things that the happy couple can enjoy.

We hope that you liked this journey into the world of cake toppers. If you want to learn much more about this subject we invite you to visit our website.

Could you be in the market place for some really great wedding cake toppers? We can help you with those discount wedding cake toppers to save you some money.

CCNA Exam Options

Posted under Uncategorized

There are two options available to you to achieve your Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) certification. The first option is to take the single CCNA exam. Since this was too overwhelming to many CCNA candidates, Cisco created a second option for students to break the Cisco CCNA exam into two separate exams. In doing so, Cisco created a new entry level certification called Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT). This second option will be covered in detail later in this article as will be the three Specialized CCNA certifications.

Single Exam Option – CCNA exam 640-802 The current version of the CCNA exam is 640-802 and was last updated in November of 2007. Cisco seems to have a history of updating this exam approximately every three years. Coincidentally that is also the amount of time your Cisco CCNA certification is valid. So every three years, you must update your Cisco certifications according to the policies of Cisco at that time. This is one of the reasons why a Cisco certification is more valuable than many other IT certifications. By requiring you to recertify every three years, it ensures you are kept up to date with the quickly changing technologies in the IT field. The exam is 90 minutes in length and can be any where from 45 to 55 questions. There are 7 types of questions you may see are as follows:

Exam Question Formats # Single answer multiple choice -These are multiple choice questions where there is only one correct answer. A question will be posed, and a radio button will allow the user to select the proper answer to the question. # Multiple answer multiple choice -These are multiple choice questions where there are multiple correct answers. A question will be posed, and checkboxes will allow the user to select the proper answer to the question. # Drag and Drop (DND) -A green list of options will be provided on the left side of the screen, prompting the user to drag each of these to the correct yellow category box on the right side. The items can be removed from the chosen category and rearranged before submitting a final answer using the Submit button. # Fill in the Blank -The user will fill in the correct answer to a question or complete an existing sentence, making an accurate statement. # Router Simulation -Individual real-world scenarios are given, and the user is prompted to negotiate the proper network arrangement or perform the functions necessary using a simulated hyperterminal screen. # Testlet -The user is provided with a real-world scenario, and 3 or more questions are posed with regard to the scenario given. # Simlet -This is similar to a testlet question, however each sub-question is offered in the form of a router simulation.

Two Exam Option – ICND1 640-822 & ICND2 640-816 As previously mentioned, the extensive amount of material covered in the single CCNA exam is too overwhelming for some exam takers. Thus Cisco provides an option to break the exam into two sittings. This has been speculated was in response to the high failure rate on the CCNA exam. Thus again illustrating why it is one of the most widely respected entry level IT certifications.

The first sitting is for the Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1 (ICND1) 640-822 exam. Upon successfully completing this exam, you will have earned Cisco’s newest entry level certification, the Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT). This exam is 90 minutes in length and will cover 40 to 50 questions. You will encounter the same 7 question formats as you could see on the CCNA exam so there is no need to repeat them here again. Noteworthy for those preparing for the exam is which topics are covered on the ICND1 and what topics are covered on the ICND2 exam. Accordingly, we have provided the break down of which topics are covered in each exam below.

ICND1 Exam Topics # Describe how networks function, identifying major components, function of network components and the Open System Interconnection (OSI) reference model. # Using the host-to-host packet delivery process, describe issues related to increasing traffic on an Ethernet LAN and identify switched LAN technology solutions to Ethernet networking issues. # Describes the reasons for extending the reach of a LAN and the methods that can be used with a focus on RF wireless access. # Describes the reasons for connecting networks with routers and how routed networks transmit data through networks using TCP / IP. # Describe the function of Wide Area Networks (WANs), the major devices of WANs, and configure PPP encapsulation, static and dynamic routing, PAT and RIP routing. # Use the command-line interface to discover neighbors on the network and managing the routers startup and configuration.

The second sitting is for the Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 2 (ICND2) 640-816 exam. This exam is 90 minutes in length and will cover 40 to 50 questions. You will encounter the same 7 question formats as you could see on the CCNA exam so there is no need to repeat them here again. Upon successfully completing this second exam, you will have earned your Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) certification.

ICND2 Exam Topics # Review how to configure and troubleshoot a small network. # Expand the switched network from a small LAN to a medium-sized LAN with multiple switches, supporting VLANs, trunking, and spanning tree. # Describe routing concepts as they apply to a medium-sized network and discuss considerations when implementing routing on the network. # Configure, verify, and troubleshoot OSPF. # Configure, verify, and troubleshoot EIGRP. # Determine how to apply ACLs based on network requirements, and to configure, verify, and troubleshoot ACLs on a medium-sized network. # Describe when to use NAT or PAT on a medium-sized network, and configure NAT or PAT on routers. # Identify and implement the appropriate WAN technology based on network requirements.

Advanced CCNA Certifications Once you achieve your CCNA certification, you have many options open to you in the Cisco world. In 2008 Cisco introduced three advanced CCNA certifications which focused on specialization in different technologies. Obtaining your CCNA is a perquisite for any of these advanced CCNA certifications. Each is obtained by completing one additional exam. These three certifications are as follows:

CCNA Voice which is obtained by completing the 640-460 or 642-436 exam. This exam validates associate-level knowledge and skills required to administer a voice network. Focusing on the required skill set for specialized job roles in voice technologies such as voice technologies administrator, voice engineer, and voice manager. It validates skills in VoIP technologies such as IP PBX, IP telephony, handset, call control, and voicemail solutions.

CCNA Security certification which is obtained by completing the 640-553 exam. This exam validates knowledge and skills required to secure Cisco networks. With a CCNA Security certification, a administrator demonstrates the skills required to develop a security infrastructure, recognize threats and vulnerabilities to networks, and mitigate security threats. The CCNA Security exam puts emphasizes on core security technologies, the installation, troubleshooting and monitoring of network devices to maintain integrity, confidentiality and availability of data and devices, and competency in the technologies that Cisco uses in its security structure.

CCNA Wireless certification which is obtained by completing the 640-721 exam. This exam validates associate-level knowledge and skills to configure, implement and support of wireless LANs, specifically those networks using Cisco equipment. With a CCNA Wireless certification, administrators can support a basic wireless network on a Cisco WLAN in a SMB to enterprise network. The CCNA Wireless exam includes information and practice activities to prepare them for configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting basic tasks of a Cisco WLAN in SMB and Enterprise networks.
